60 Minutes of Classical Music
Friday the 7th May Roger Clayden (cello) & Andrew Rowe (Piano) were pleased to welcome Lowrie Morgan on the Double Bass who had made the journey down to Bognor Regis from the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and gave a 60 min concert.
Bognor's classical music audience came alive with the deep silk sound of the double bass melodies and rhythms.
Johann Baptist Vanhal; Concerto in C first movement, Janos Vanay; Six Hungarian Folksongs, Giovanni Bottesini; Elegia. Then a cello and piano work by Gabriel Faure called Sicilienne. Samuel Stormont's new ' Dance ' for Cello & Guitar which received extended applause from the audience. We were back this time to the naked Bass playing J.S.Bach Sonata No 2 and Emil Tabakov, Motivy. Lowrie then answered questions and chatted generally to members of the audience.
"60 minutes of classical music fot just £5" are sponsored by Roger Clayden - Chair of the Rox Trustees and are held on the first Friday of each month at The Regis Centre in Bognor Regis.
