Rox showcase returns!
The popular 'Rox Showcase' returns to the White Horse in Bognor Regis this Friday 27th June to give a taste of the kind of music you can expect to see and hear at this year's Rox Festival on August 2nd & 3rd..
The Jet Black Heights
The Jet Black Heights are a 5 piece band from the South of England UK. Gary Anderson - Vocals, Mike de Souza -
Guitar, Tom Gwyther - Keyboards, Chris Lockyer - Bass, Rupe Rance - Drums.
As one door closes, another one opens.....and that's how it was for The Jet Black Heights, formed in the summer of 2007.
Lead vocalist Gary Anderson had parted with the old band name, under which they had supported Bon Jovi and Nickleback
on the UK leg of their world tour.
The group had been searching for the right name to reflect their unique style and after much brainstorming, The Jet Black Heights became a reality. The band had been friends for more than 10 years having toured and recorded in various bands together over that period..things slotted very quickly into place! Their influences are numerous but include :- LIVE, Counting Crows, Jeff Buckley, Killing Joke, U2, Goo Goo Dolls, Van Halen, Muse and The Foo Fighters.
Lauren Halliday
Lauren Halliday is a Musician with a propensity for individuality and raw creative sound. Beginning her musical
journey on the seaside town of Felpham she started performing new material to anyone who'd listen. Although the sea was
an inspiration, the beach was too small stage so she took off with her guitar to see the broader world. From playing in
sweaty basements in Canada and shacked up Thailand bars to Festivals and city venues she has the drive to sing her soul
and pluck each heart from any audience. From rocking her way in the alternative rock band Exit to Eden to strumming the
haunting melodies of her solo work she is an ever evolving artist. Unsuspected from her ethereal presence comes powerful
soaring vocals and rhythm fuelled guitar. Inspired by Ani Difranco, Bjork and Radiohead she has a varied taste for artists
who sell their music, not their soul. Refusing to be sucked in by the music manufactured machine she continues to write
each song with a difference. Playing live is her love and she sees the future luminous with endless possibility. She is
currently recording a new EP and on the search for musicians to form a new band.
Tickets are just a £3.00 donation which will go towards the costs of staging this years two day event on the main stage in front of the Royal Norfolk Hotel with music, arts and workshops on and along the nearby sea-front.
