Get Ready to Rox!
The ever popular Rox Music & Arts Festival rolls back in to town for the 19th ROX Festival on August 15th and 16th and some of the regions best unsigned acts will take to the stage on the lawns of the Royal Norfolk Hotel.
The event received praise from the emergency services last summer and a number of meetings have taken place throughout the last 8 months to identify and iron out any issues which means that Rox 2009 is on track to be bigger and better than ever.
One area that will receive a major boost this year is the 'Rox Fringe' which now has a dedicated team to pull together various arts and crafts which will provide a much wider programme for the whole family to enjoy.
Hugh Cornwell - the legendary voice of The Stranglers headlined the festival last year and Rox are hopeful that another named act will be secured this year allowing local unsigned acts to mix and mingle with the stars backstage and get some real 'industry' experience. Hugh was so impressed last year that he immediately agreed to become a patron of the Charity having said that 'I've played a great number of festivals throughout my career but I can't believe that an event of this size is put on for the local community for free - it's quite remarkable'!
All bands, artists, soloists, fringe acts, volunteers, stall holders and concessions are now being urged to contact us for a chance to be at 'Rox 2009'.
The Rox team are working together with all the services & our sponsorship partners. Bognor Regis Town Council, the University of Chichester & Butlins have already come on board again this year along with many other local business who have supported Rox over many years. One of the Rox founders said that 'without this invaluable support, the Festival just simply would never happen'.
As ever, the Rox Music & Arts Charity is looking forward to hosting a great Festival for the whole community to enjoy.
