Rox 'taster' sessions to be held Sunday December 7th!
Here's a great chance for budding performers to try out their skills at a series of FREE taster sessions which have been organised by a team of young Rox volunteers. If you're aged between 11 and 19 and live in the Bognor Regis area and fancy trying out drums, keyboards, guitars and music technology or want to try your hand at drama or fashion then you should head to the Bognor Regis campus of the Chichester University on December 7th between 10am and 4pm.
The event has been called 'Roxstock' by the young volunteers as they feel that it provides the ideal way to experience music and the arts at 'grass roots' level whilst having fun in a non-conventional 'laid-back' atmosphere. Roxstock spokesman Fed Isles has been working on the project for a few months now together with a number of like-minded individuals who have been encouraged to get involved in community voluntary work through the 'V Project' which is being delivered by the Rox Organisation. He said that 'From day one we were given a blank canvass and encouraged to research and identify an event that could provide 'opportunity' for all young people in the area. Roxstock will provide a series of 'interactive' workshops throughout the day which will allow young people to experience a number of artforms. As a group we will then evaluate the demands for the various disciplines which will enable Rox as an organisation to launch new workshops at the University in 2009.
So if you're aged between 11- 19 and want to try out a number of music and artforms or perhaps want to expand on what you may already
know then get along to the Bognor campus of Chichester University on 7th December - 10am to 4pm.
If you want to know more send an e-mail to info@the-rox.com or keep and eye on the Rox web site.
